Our first trip to Europe was Paris. And what a trip it was.
It was November 2000 and the U.S. had just held an election...and no one knew who won. It was fascinating being in Europe, in Paris, during this time...to get "their" perspective. It seemed they were quite fascinated by the drama surrounding the election. We (the United States) looked a little ridiculous.
The trip: It was awesome, just awesome. The only thing we really didn't care for: French food. Yes, it's true. I could never find anything to eat. And when we finally found a place that served hamburgers...they plopped an egg on it. By the way, that little menu item is called: hamburger avec oeuf.
Other than the food, we had a wonderful time...and we have NO idea what the hell people are talking about when they say the French are unfriendly. We had a fabulous time and are looking forward to going back!
